I think the title says it all. This is the best looking Cute bike we have sold. We started with a Cute bike painted black and put on some awesome looking red anodized wheels. Bullhorn bars and reverse brake levers finish this rig off. Apparently is climbs great, gets a lot of attention, but suffers from a lack of gears....although that is kind of a BS complaint when you are riding a "SINGLE" speed bike.
Sometimes you want a do it all bike with the best components for the job. And sometimes it is this bike. We started with a LHT frameset and every component was hand picked to suit the customer. We ended up with a ballin' touring rig. This bike features Thomson stem and seatpost, Paul Touring Canti's and levers, matching Brooks Honey saddle and grips, and a full SRAM X9 groupset. Another one we can't take much credit for, but here it goes. This is a 1973 Raleigh Competition built by Carlton. This year was built with Carlton lugs from the 50's, apparently when the builders found a case of the unique lugs that had been previously lost. Any other year of the Competition would have been built with Nervex lugs. We rebuilt this bike to it's former self using NOS Huret Jubillee derailleurs, new TA chainrings, and fresh grease all around. We can't take much credit for this one, the owner knows exactly what he likes and wants. This is a 1981 Mercian road bike, handbuilt in England and sold in the US. We did an overhaul on this one, stripping the bike down to it's frame and repacking/replacing all the bearings. A quick test ride down the street proved this is a very capable road machine! What happens when you have a complete bike laying around in spare parts? You find a sweet steel frame and build up a nasty commuter. While we don't know much about the frame, we know that it is a fast bike. And the mustache bars give it a classy old school racer look...makes me think about my bars for a moment. Component highlights include SRAM brake levers, bar end shifters, and Ritchey Marathon saddle. Future upgrades will include a Campy crankset. The 650b conversion...take a road bike with tight clearances and put 37c tires (37b technically) and fenders on it. It can be done! New wheels, tires, and brakes and you've got yourself a sweet commuter! Still needs some tweaking, but it's 93% there! After David filled up his broken spoke card (break 10, the 11th is free), he finally upgraded his wheels. What we have here are Velocity Fusion rims, Shimano 105 hubs, and DT Swiss Comp spokes. The wheels do a great job complimenting rest of the bike! Just put on some brand new Velocity Aerohead's built to our own Liquid hubs. Result: 1.75lbs weight savings. Sweet bike too! This is a new Surly frame built with components from another build. This was built up to be a solid commuter with utility and durability in mind. Features handbuilt Velocity Synergy rim to red anodized Novatec hubs, Shimano Deore mountain triple crankset, and a Brook B17 Standard. The red Specialized Crossroads is the original bike from which the components came from. |
